that’s all of them together. 1 million a day. coming from a combined net worth of over 700 billion (src)

comes to 0.05% of their combined net worth, if they spent at that rate over a full year.

that’s not even a rounding error on their books.

comparatively, it’s sofa cushion change for the rest of us.

(if i was debt free), it wouldn’t even be fifty cents… for the year–less than one penny per week.

they must not really care that much either way, so lets just tax tf out of them all the time instead of just one special thing.

It’s wild how many people think that those rich people that benefited from the billions paid in taxes by everyone else, shouldn’t pay taxes themselves.

How do boots taste? I wouldn’t know myself.

But they won capitalism. Shouldn’t they be allowed to have their prizes and not be taxed.

        *prizes are considered taxable income

I feel like people genuinely believe this and believe these billionaires and shit exist in a vacuum that has no effect on anyone or anything else.

          Propaganda is effective

They shouldn’t have benefited from the millions paid by others. But trying to solve misallocation of funds by misallocating more funds is crazy. Plus, the way it is done lately sets dangerous precedent.

This is just Trump’s $5000 in a trench coat.

You know, if you’re caught selling drugs, they take your car, your house, your business. It’s assumed it was all purchased with ill-gotten gains. Seems like something like that could apply here. They should consider themselves lucky it’s only 5%, instead of what they deserve.

Yea the way it’s done sucks but stop fighting against taxing the rich they can handle, they are not all geniuses or benevolent rulers like a lot of people seem to believe.

Most of them are shitty, selfish assholes who only get emboldened by money.

For the record, money=power and letting families just run the fucking world because they cry about having to pay taxes is fucking insanity.

Take all their fucking money I don’t give a shit anymore.

They will literally let us all die in the fucking streets like United healthcare. They’ve told us repeatedly who they are.

Why the fuck won’t you believe them?

Take all their fucking money I don’t give a shit anymore.

And now we need to go back into realized vs unrealized gains debate. Take their cash, and THEY go insolvent. Take and liquidate their assets (which a lot of people are calling for more and more), WE go insolvent.

Hunger, frustration and violence follows. And just like that, the ideal breeding ground for authoritarian neofeudalists is created. After material shortages, ideological and/or racial purges follow.

I’m not saying what I’m saying to benefit some mythical creatures. I’m saying what I’m saying in hope our world stays boring as long as possible.

Question : how would you get a billion dollars?

Answer: BY STEALING OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

Maybe one guy has ever made a billion dollars on his own, and it was probably because he found his bitcoin harddrive in 2018 or something.
