Case in point why world governments are working to disentangle their social media use, and just technical systems in general, from US-based tech companies. Unfortunately, that is not a small job and will take years.
This level of hostility was unimaginable in years past because we did not have a literal demented octogenarian running a superpower, but now that the genie’s out of the bottle, it’s never going back in. Just like Obama eventually adopted torture, mass killing with drones, permanent war, and trillion-dollar deficits despite his lofty rhetoric, it is going to become normal to operate this way in the United States.
We, as consumers, can more easily repatriate our data to Non-US platforms.
And really, everyone should be. Repatriate your data if you can.
