Imagine losing to a guy that said “Don’t vote for me, I’m too sick.”
Iowans were so pissed off with Republicans on Tuesday that they elected Eric Armstrong to the state House. The catch: Armstrong, a retired railroad executive, pulled out of the race in September due to health issues.

Speaking with The New York Times via phone Wednesday, Armstrong said he would “do my best to represent” Iowa’s 20th district.
There is one of these in Texas too.
“If I had a nickel for every time a Democrat won election after dropping out of these midterms, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.”
