Born mostly out of frustration at having my output stolen when plugging in Playstation controllers, here is AudioPin.
How is this FGC related? Well PC setups are notoriously finicky/annoying to use at FGC events for exactly the reason stated above. Playstation sticks play havoc with audio when trying to keep things running smoothly. The first “public” test of AudioPin was actually at a local fighting game tournament I participated in, where it successfully prevented audio from being lost to people’s playstation controllers all weekend!
AudioPin lets you create prioritized lists of audio devices for input and output, with the option to separately pin devices for communications.
You can get the latest release here.
Note that while devices are “pinned” you will not be able to manually change them via the normal windows UI, but you can change non-communications devices quickly via AudioPin’s tray icon instead.
