    The overall strategy, it seems, is to ride hard and stressful every day to push the UAE domestiques and tire out Pog who’s theorized to have slightly poorer restitution than Vingegaard.

    Presumably, Vingegaard will then get the upper hand in the third week on mountain stages which suit him better than today’s finish which was still explosive.

      I totally agree and I totally think that is super boring and a very bad/risky strategy. It all rely on Pog actually being worse than he has seemed in the last couple of seasons.

        Yes, but what else are you going to do?

        Apparently, Vingegaard cannot beat him on punchy climbs (though he’s coming closer), and if you attack him at the wrong time the tour will be over before stage 10.

        It’s boring because Pog is too dominant, not because Vingegaard is a coward. Same goes for the rest of the season with all the 50-80k solo attacks.
