Near where I live in amerikkka, the local power supplier got a huge contract of public money to expand capacity to support some new server farms for a genocidal tech corp. The power company pocketed the money and has not increased power production. I’m fully expecting regular brownouts within a few years because they’re definitely going to prioritize the tech company over people.
