Since his election in October 2024 as the head of the National Council, Walter Rosenkranz, a senior member of the far-right FPÖ party, has made a series of blunders and provocations.

Since 2008, the party leadership has organised events that advance the Kremlin’s foreign policy interests; travelled regularly to Moscow to discuss political, social and business issues; participated in various efforts aimed at legitimising Russia’s aggressive international behaviour; and even signed a coordination and cooperation agreement with the ruling United Russia Party at the end of 2016

And with most (all?) far-right outlets in Europe, we must not forget their close ties to Russia …
