Just saw the new Superman yesterday and loved it. And I don’t even care for superhero movies usually lol I only came out because of the good reviews. So I’m sure they gained new fans and interest. And it’s great for people like me who miss having a reason to go to the movies;)

Oh look some CEO gets to be super happy and some fans get to jerk off because their fandom sold a lot?

Like this isn’t news and this isn’t anything viewers should care about.

What a capitalist fucking mindset to care about sales numbers.

Box office is extremely relevant to viewers. A good box office means sequels and imitators, a bad box office means different directors and approaches. Pretending money doesn’t affect things wont make capitalism go away.

        Sequels and imitators 🤮

How about it giving a shit about having a good story to tell instead of making some rich fuck more money…

Oh look some CEO gets to be super happy and some fans get to jerk off because their fandom sold a lot?

Yes. Because they haven’t been able to make a good, well received Superman movie in quite some time.

      Like this isn’t news

Which is why it’s posted in the Movies community.

and this isn’t anything viewers should care about.

According to Box Office revenue, they do care.

What a capitalist fucking mindset to care about sales numbers.

The goal of making an entertainment film is to get a lot of people to see it. They did a really good job of it this time. They did it to such a degree that it was worth noting.

You’re mad that a lot of people saw the new Superman movie. You’re mad that there’s a way to measure that.

I don’t give a shit about it being superman.

I’m mad that anyone outside of those directly profiting gives a shit about a movie’s profitability. It’s the least fucking interesting aspect of storytelling.

“According to box office revenue” 🤮

Does knowing a movie you watched made lots of money for some Corporate shithead improve your enjoyment of the story?

This capitalist obsession with profits is disgusting.

I know. I’m heaping scorn on you for your misplaced bolshevik schtick.

I’m mad that anyone outside of those directly profiting gives a shit about a movie’s profitability. It’s the least fucking interesting aspect of storytelling.

This is more about your perceptual limitations. The takeaway is that more people saw it than typically for superman movies as of late. As in, they’re finally are doing the thing right after many substandard attempts.

“According to box office revenue” 🤮 Does knowing a movie you watched made lots of money for some Corporate shithead improve your enjoyment of the story?

Box office revenue is the measurement of how many tickets were sold, and therefore how many people have seen the movie. That is the evidence that was used to back up the idea that this Superman movie is doing well compared to the previous movies.

By the way, are you able to explain how you reached the conclusion that me knowing how much money a movie makes is a factor of my enjoyment of movies? This of course will have to come out of your head, as I’ve said nothing of the sort.

This capitalist obsession with profits is disgusting.

Your righteous indignation has been noted, mocked, and dismissed.

Simply put, the fact that people really like the new Superman movie (ask me how I know) just makes you angry.

I’m well aware of how sales numbers work and going out of your way to explain that as if it wasn’t obvious is fucking sad and pedantic.

Go on keep slurping those capitalist boots and oohhh and ahhhh at the big number go up for the owning class while you enjoy the bread and circuses of pumped out remakes and sequels. 🤮

            Capitalist bootlickers get blocked.

No, what’s sad is jumping in on the Movies community, seeing a standard story that is on topic, and taking a big old tangential Marxist shit.

To be clear, if you came in with any other socio-political perspective, with the same piss-poor attitude, I would be taking the piss out of you in an identical fashion.

It is you personally and specifically, that is the problem.

Go on keep slurping those capitalist boots and oohhh and ahhhh at the big number go up for the owning class while you enjoy the bread and circuses of pumped out remakes and sequels.

Blah blah blah capitalist blah blah means of production blah blah blah proletariat blah blah blah while you enjoy the bread and circuses of pumped out remakes and sequels.

You should have just stuck with criticizing audiences for accepting rehashes of the same stuff. That would be still poo-pooing the story, but at least pertains to movie making and movie watching.

              🤮 Capitalist bootlickers get blocked.

Can you identify any tangible loss on my part if you were to block me? Would I notice if you hadn’t announced this?

              Who is that line for?
