netanyahu could drone strike Beijing and Fu Cong would be like “Let me say that China strongly condemns the israeli attack, which I emphasize is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and International Law”

and then will roll over and practice uninvolvement even while US troops are simultaneously marching into Shanghai

Nah, THAT would mean war. China is chill with other countries as long as they stay out of chinese internal matters. If one fucks with China, it is willing and able to retaliate.

Sino-Vietnamese border war? During the invasion of Cambodia, Vietnam was ethnically cleansing its chinese minority, sending them to China. It also instigated border skirmishes, trying to move the border markers. As a result a few local divisions marched into Vietnam and occupied several border cities. No more border fuckery or kicking out people.

Nepalese maoist weapon smugglers getting executed because they moved through China?

South China Sea? In the past(70s and 80s), Vietnam and China navies had several deadly clashes there.

Chinese civil war: During the cold war, the RoC stated planning independence. The PRC issued a statement that they now have neutron bombs =). The RoC still has not declared independence.

Tibet: “Abolish slavery within this timeframe and reunification will be peacefull. Otherwise we go John Brown on your asses.” They went John Brown on their asses.

The border war between India and China over Âksai Chin: India tried to make a grab of contested area, the british Raj who’s claims it inherited claimed the area. The PRC disagreed and sent the PLA. The strategic mountain passes in question are now part of China.

It is usually overshadowed by other things, but China does have limits to its chill.

            Grazi!

I have a very elementary understanding of the Vietnam / Cambodia / China war, but I do remember luna oi! mentioning how China, like the US, supported Pol Pot (not as much as the US though).

Jup that was one part of it. The whole thing was during the sino-soviet split. Vietnam sided with the soviets, because the USSR was it’s lifeline at that time. China saw itself confronted with enemies to the north and south and wanted to break the encirclement it saw itself in, hence the support for cambodia. Vietnam had sucessfully unified and beaten up anyone who would threaten it and some elements were eyeing towards more advantagous developments in the north and at sea.

The situation was a powederkeg. With most players having understandable reasons for their actions. All came to a head in a very messy border war in which both sides claimed victory and sea skirmishes either side wants to forget because they were that unecessary. Good thing the CPC and CPV are determined to get along again.
