Interstellar Dust is written by C.J. Hudson, with Polishman Igor Wolski handling the art. The special cover above was done by Brandon Graham. Print copies are offered HERE, and it can be read online THERE. I checked it out a bit, but it kind of missed me, amounting to modern-American sci-fi pulp, I’d say. But if that’s your ‘cuppa joe’…
What I did like was this specific street and market scene, in which I half-expected John DiFool to stroll by at any moment. Though, I wonder if I should have added a “cheesecake” tag, as you can see. *gulp*
As for Wolski specifically, I’d recommend an earlier post, which conveys a nice taste of what he’s capable of, when unleashed:
Beautiful Moebius style color palette and nice clean lines!
Let me preface this by saying that It’s a beautiful piece; and I love Moebius,(he was an absolute genius.) But man, I WISHED artists expanded their reference repertoire and everyone stopped emulating him so much, and so closely. I prefer when I can see the artist pov and not only a Moebius copycat in this type of “inspired by” pieces… Makes me feel like we are loosing so many other good artist and pov’s as part of the ‘collective imaginarium’… I get it, it’s how it always has been. But idk, with the advent of Ai this type of phenomenon is accelerating, the homogenization and degradation of our visual literacy. Sorry, rant over.
Haha, that rant made much sense to me.
I don’t even know how & what to think about all this. As ever, being a professional artist can be fraught with hardship even when the person’s seriously talented, and being a hobby artist or dual-career artist seems so much more practical in lots of ways. Meanwhile, AI is already replacing jobs (artistic & otherwise) and is only getting more powerful and tricky.
Personally, I’ve come to appreciate AI LLM’s (like ChatGPT) being able to help me out in any number of ways, and I understand the issue of them ‘hallucinating’ responses, which formerly lead me towards a sort of even-handed feeling towards their use. But after I processed the article below, I think I have a better understanding of how they can role-play, cheat, and flatter users in to pursuing very foolish ends. They are so artificially reasonable to converse with!

Thanks, I’ll check the article out and will get back to ya!
Frankly, I got a bit depressed upon my first-read of that same article. So, I will owe you one if you make it through the weirdness, compa!
