Technical/progressive thrash from Spain, with a healthy helping of groove. The band seems to be on hold at the moment, and apart from certain vocal deliveries, they have (had?) a LOT of promise in their unique style. If only they made a bit more music.

At first I thought it might be a calendar, but there’s nothing pointing at the increments that a month would be or whatever lol.

After listening to this album, these guys sound like Mastodon & Los Lonely Boys put together & I mean that in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY.

You know what, that’s such a bang-on description I’m impressed lol. Had never heard of Los Lonely Boys before as I don’t get out of the extreme metal circle all that much, but Mutant undeniably have their environment contribute to their music and image. And of course Mastodon is… yep! Progressive indeed.

Glad you enjoyed it! Now while this right here is a thrash metal community, feel free to stop on over at !doommetal@lemmy.world if you haven’t already. It’s got more stuff in tune with Mastodon and other sludge bands right next to the typical slow and heavy fare. Like Baroness, and @PennyRoyal@sh.itjust.works’s pick Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol. xD

I was pretty late to the metal scene. I mostly grew up on blues & classic rock & hippie music. I knew los lonely boys before I knew about ANY real metal band. Hearing the vocals & harmonies of mutant reminded me of them.

Absolute bastards, this album is all round phenomenal, it’s 4 in the morning, I’m stone cold sober, and in danger of banging my head off the wall with excitement. What a record, thanks for completely fucking any chance I had of getting back to sleep
