Because if they ever bring up concrete policies they oppose, they violate the principle of compliance, the American liberal meta is still primarily geared toward bipartisanship and left-punching
Any liberal who articulates a coherent critique is immediately placed under the “troublemaker” and “woke” category, which is a non-starter for mainstream liberalism, in their eyes all critique of Trump has to be unbounded, vague, and preapproved by the institutions these people worship and cannot clash with the military industrial complex in any way
Trump’s domestic expression of Nazism gives way to “Russiagate”, his racist rants are somehow converted into a generalized “decorum” debate and his foreign Policy is either ignored, praised, or condemned for “not going far enough”…these de-fanged translations are what liberals are referring to when they call him stupid
But even that tepid reformulated nonsense is still too far for many liberals, the short answer is they don’t talk about what makes him stupid for the simple reason that it makes politics “real” and brings it outside the cultural mindspace these people inhabit, astonishingly to countless liberals “real politics” reads as “try hard”
I don’t disagree, but I don’t see that it addresses why they don’t talk about what makes him stupid.
