It was, though I think I preferred my previous birthday even more, and it comes with an amusing story:

A friend invited me over for a barbecue without realizing that it was my birthday. I’ve never been a huge fan of (my own) birthday parties, so this was perfect. I brought my own cake which I did not reveal until late in the evening, and thus got to enjoy my preferred aspects of a party with minimal attention on me :)
