Yeah, I live in a red state. But it’s an university town, and the police is pretty chill. (I’m brown, and have a distinctly foreign accent, so I’d know.)

Fortunately, we haven’t seen much ICE action yet. As I said, it’s an university town, most foreigners are on non-immigrant Visas, so I guess we aren’t a prime target yet. But I’m sure our time will come, sooner or later, just trying my best to graduate ASAP and leave this country.

You’re in a Red state, so that insulates you somewhat. He doesn’t want to have disputes with Red state governors. Memphis is the lone exception, with the governor being cool with letting the National Guard abuse his citizens…

So you’re probably safe from now, but if your campus starts getting activist, and starts protesting, ICE will show up.

seems like they target heavy blue areas, with large population of POCs, we know they rarely target red areas, because the gop and republicans will raise hell over it. also all the “illegal” immigrants are working in plants in rural areas, cant have them running afoul of these rich plant owners, or corporations. farming areas are also less targeted, and most of them have fled the states.
