minus-squarejustaderp@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·11 months agoI would think a two-hander is massive enough to be a blunt weapon if turned sideways, striking with the flat of the sword. But, my opinion is really uninformed.

minus-squareRose Thorne(She/Her)@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up1·11 months agoI’d allow it, at my table. Using the flat of your blade is a valid tactic for blunting blows, be it against undead or to incapacitate a target. But I’d also give you a slight disadvantage, as you’re now going to be fighting your blade becoming a fan.
minus-squarescrion@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-211 months agoI’d also decrease the damage a bit if actually used as a bludgeoning weapon.
minus-squareRose Thorne(She/Her)@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up1·11 months agoYeah, that’d be fair, and it’s how I normally treat using the shaft of a pole weapon as staff. Unless it’s a Monk. Damn them, and their versatility!
