        My apologies, while making a jab at pointless gun violence, I failed to realize that my use of the word “normal” was indeed a poor choice of expression when referring to traffic casualties.

      Duh? It’s also true in the US every year. In fact looking around I can’t find a single country where it’s not true.

      The headline is trying to convey that cars are a bigger real threat to the population than the perception of violent crime would have you believe, but the social interest in addressing car deaths vs. anti-crime measures are wildly out of alignment with the actual harm caused by the respective issues.

      Yeah, honestly you can look at this statement from two sides, depending on which rhetoric you want

        There’s two sides to this, both of which are equally true.

        1. Cars are a fuck ton more dangerous than most people realise/think

        2. Violent crime is a whole lot LESS common/of a risk than sensationalist media makes most people assume.
