Remember that it is thanks to the US that the UN peacekeeping forces are not allowed to go in and create peace.
To be fair, it’s actually thanks to all 5 permanent security council members.
There’s no atrocity that at least one of them won’t veto UN doing anything about.
Condemning the many crimes of Israel will be vetoed by the US, sometimes also the UK and/or France
Russia vetoes consequences for their own atrocities, as does the US, China, and to a lesser degree the UK and France
The US vetoes consequences for the atrocities of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
Etc etc until you get the effectively toothless UN we have now.
