Most non-binary people I know who date lesbians use the terms sapphic and lesbian to describe both themselves and their relationships. Note; “most non-binary people I know” used to identify as lesbian (or bi/pan) women and they still feel an attachment to that community despite not being women.

At the end of the day, though, labels are about what feel right to you. If you feel that sapphic/lesbian accurately describe you or your relationships, go ahead and use them! It doesn’t make you any less non-binary.

Personally, I just use “queer” for everything :P

I specifically like the term because I’m non-binary. It feels more like a descriptor of the way I interact in a relationship vs who I am interacting with. I’m a femme leaning trans person mostly interested in other femme folk, so that definitely contributes to why I prefer the term, but it does still feel very distinct from lesbian for me.

If it was me wondering about this for myself, I’d probably go and read up on Sapho’s life and poetry and see if I identified with it
