    how’s your week going

Every single week of my life has been worse since Tuesday June 16, 2015 (Bloomsday year 2015). I live in the United States of America. And the cult of Donald Trump has made all family life, social life, online life terrible!

Here in my home, people will not even organize an online protest. In over TEN YEARS AND SEVEN MONTHS, addicts to memes and junk will not stop their amusement cult of Donald Trump. The fandom of Donald Trump is horrible to live with! People will not stop mocking Trump and parroting Trump and do an ONLINE world-famous World Wide Web protest against Donald Trump. Instead, people adopt Trump-speak, Trump-images flood every social platform, yard signs flood every street!

Donald Trump became famous because of Twitter social, and social users will not stand up and do the world’s largest protest from We The People … largest protest messaging in human history… online against this world-wrecking man!

Every person around me, every person I meet, has “Trump Brain Rot”. It never fucking ends! People who do not grasp that billionaires run the media systems and it is critical to stand up EVERY 47 HOURS on social media and PROTEST!

Living in a nation-wide echo chamber since June 16, 2015 is a fucking nightmare! This is Hell. I do not believe in Heaven in outer space, I do not believe in Hell below ground, THIS IS IT! Endless fucking Donald Trump and addicts to his dumb as fuck memes and Truth Social messages!

this week’s book is Open Democracy: Reinventing Popular Rule for the Twenty-First Century

If you have this book, PLEASE populate Quotes on GoodReads and WikiQuotes

    https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/78240986-open-democracy-reinventing-popular-rule-for-the-twenty-first-century

Currently there are ZERO quotes from this book on the Internet!

University of Toronto lessons on media studies, media ecology:

“The future of the book is very much in the order of book as information service. Instead of the book as a fixed package of repeatable and uniform character suited to the market with pricing—and so on—the book is increasingly taking on the character of service, an information service, and the book as an information service is tailor-made and custom-built.” — Marshall McLuhan
delivered on May 7, 1966 at The Poetry Center of the 92nd Street YM-YWHA for the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts. McLuhan titled his lecture “The Medium Is the Massage”

67 minute audio lecture on this page:
    https://www.themediumisthemassage.com/the-lecture/

People are often more interested in book quotes than reading an entire book. People go to the public library and use a Xerox / copy machine to take a few pages, not the entire book. Please try to include the page number and chapter title when quoting a book. Thank you.

Agggh I feel so awkward when I try to talk to people who are genuinely trying I get to know me. What I sent:

“Hey again! I am often bad at communication when I’m sober. A bit about me - I’m kind of a hippy; you’ve probably picked up on that. 😂 Planned interactions stress me out a bit. I really just want to go with the flow. I would definitely like to hang out with you again, but more in if it happens, it happens kind of way. Not to say let’s not make plans or anything, but maybe those plans lead to sexy times, maybe they lead to dancing til we pass out, maybe they lead to cuddles. I just want to hang and see where things go, you know? Anyway, hope you’re having good weekend;”

I dunno. Sending that felt real, but fake too.

23 job applications out to door. Nothing yet. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to everyone else in the world. My old university gave me a courtesy appointment just to help me maintain my academic creds. Publish or perish, as they say.

Had a paper sent back to me. Reviewer told me that I’m “ill informed” and “overstated” the problems of the executive branch. That the US govt is working well. I had to dig deep into my academic shade throwing library to retort and felt great about my response. I think I captured the dumpster fire meme in academic prose.

Very focused on landing a job this week and fueled by coffee.

        Sure-

Response: I appreciate the reviewer’s concern about maintaining scholarly rigor in moments of political disruption. I have moderated claims throughout and grounded assertions in available sources and peer-reviewed scholarship. However, I respectfully maintain that the evidence available to any informed observer, including official government documents, Supreme Court rulings, mass resignations, weaponization of the administrative state, and documented administrative actions targeting career public servants, supports the analysis presented. Indeed, the revised manuscript does not call for abandoning administrative theory wholesale, but rather for extending and adapting theoretical frameworks to account for such new realities the theories were not formulated to explain. Critical scholarship must continue to acknowledge evidence as it emerges in-the-real. Accordingly, I have clarified the sections where the original wording could be read as overly prescriptive. I hope these revisions address the concerns raised. I am grateful for the opportunity to strengthen the manuscript and remain open to further suggestions.

Just returned back to work this week (I’m an IT Consultant), so kind of struggling to get back into that headspace after 3 weeks break. Also just found out the promotion I was meant to get when I returned is now coming in 3 months 🙃

Quite stressful week to be honest

I wish the online community would stand up to Trump and stop reacting to the White House and I.C.E. after they already invade. The whole nation needs to be using the WWW to stand up to this crap, for you!

I really wish people would organize around mental health expert Dr. Bandy X Lee. The nation has ignored her professional books about the MAGA / Trump situaiton. People should be making her into a household name, following her lead!

      • “In Donald Trump, we have a frightening Venn diagram consisting of three circles: the first is extreme present hedonism; the second, narcissism; and the third, bullying behavior. These three circles overlap in the middle to create an impulsive, immature, incompetent person who, when in the position of ultimate power, easily slides into the role of tyrant, complete with family members sitting at his proverbial “ruling table.” Like a fledgling dictator, he plants psychological seeds of treachery in sections of our population that reinforce already negative attitudes.” ― Bandy X Lee, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President. October 3, 2017. Page 44.

Still job hunting, still practicing sewing.

My wife and I started a birthing course last week and holy fuck if that isn’t a slap in the face from the patriarchy. Took all our energy not to eye roll at the heteronormativity and misogyny in literally every comment by a man in the room. Big ‘I hate my wife’ energy which really makes you think well why are you all here then? Which sucks because I’d really hope to learn from other couples experiences but alas the straights typically have little to offer.

That’s awful. We were lucky enough to take a course from a doula who worked out of the hospital system we did our birth care through. I still have all of our materials plus an unused code for an informational app, and would be more than happy to send you a little care package if that would help in any way

Thanks a lot for the offer! Actually we just had the second session this evening and it was better. Just wish there were more queer oriented courses out there but this one will be fine overall I think. I’ll let you know if we’re interested at a later time.

        How’s your kiddo doing?

I’m glad it was better! Fwiw my wife and I did a bunch of eye rolling during the snack breaks and on the ride home from several of the classes.

Our kiddo is doing really well, we hit 1y4m last week - she has all teeth except her 2 year molars (tons of fun), is transitioning from two to one nap a day (tons of fun), and is doing her darndest to use words for things, which is actually fun.

Barring a change of plans, I’ll be back up at my ex-wife’s for a few days starting tomorrow. I don’t know what we’re doing.

ETA: It appears the mother of her grandson got into some legal trouble, so she’s possibly taking custody of her kids, which would preclude the visit. Never a boring time with her.
