Is this expected behaviour? Is this a setting I touched?
I think it could be a neat feature to turn on or off with a button, but not as default.
In settings - general there is a toggle for “no subscribed appearing in local / all”
You must have that toggled
The worst part is that I looked for it in settings, it was too specific, and I missed it every time.

I’m browsing All for the first time in over a year. If I scroll down far enough I find read articles I saw on my subscribed feed. I don’t think it’s default behavior.
