A city annex’s unincorporated land, a country illegally occupies land- there is a big difference
“annex” used to be a sort of taboo, the sort of irreversible thing only the likes of hitler did after 1918…by non-nuclear states…
Used to be is the important part, now it smack of the ultra tame language the media uses when they are actually ok with what they are reporting on.
The US “Annexes” Greenland, but Iraq “Invades” Kuwait,” (neither is ok, but the language used is different)
It’s the same when a black man is accused of a crime, they show a picture of the man in prison clothes, while a white guy is in some loving family pic.
It’ll never change, not while the rich and powerful own all the media. ignore me, I’m just bitching.
