Wasn’t purgatory something like 100,000 years of being flayed alive in a river of boiling shit for every time you had an intemperate thought or stared cross-eyed at a church or something, meaning that the average person would spend unfathomable amounts of time suffering unendurable tortures before finally getting into the Kingdom of Heaven?
