The Internet used to be so colourful, wild, loud and chaotic. It was beautiful. We lost something when everyone was given a platform page, be it MySpace, Facebook, whatever. Then even more when we were only given some fields for personalisation. Then it was just about content.

    We lost Creativity and humanity.

    I want it back.

I’m digging around the IndieWeb and Smallweb more and more and thinking about ways I could participate. It started with reading the Scrolls from shellsharks. Lots of links and inspiration in there.

Then I went and installed Lagrange to surf the Gemini protocol. Now I’m trying to figure out how to set up my own capsule.

The good internet is alive and well. It’s just harder to find. Or as hard to find as in the early days. And I think that’s beautiful.

Colourful, wild, loud and chaotic? Go to the waybackmachine, older than 20 years only, and take LSD
