Oh gosh, I love this poster.

Bah, only a few more to work on over here, then I should be ‘golden’ to release the whole collection. If you missed the intro post, it’s here.

EDIT2: That link above may or -may not- go directly to the post. If it doesn’t, use the one in comments.

Haha, meanwhile, I’m thinking Wallace (from “W&G”) would say something like: “what hey, lad, and here’s some extra cheeese…!!”

(eh, don’t mind me, it’s been kinda looney-tunes around here, lately)

Funny that I’m seeing this on the very day that I got my 1979 “Heavy Metal presents: Alien, The Illustrated Story” mag by Archie Goodwin and Walter Simonson! Thanks for posting. I wasn’t aware of this Polish art.

In terms of Europe, most of the really interesting versions online are from Poland.

I’m guessing that in Western Europe, the original American posters worked pretty well, so weren’t changed so much. But (perhaps) the further East one went, with more Slavic and other cultural values being in play, the more a real need there was to redesign the posters for such audiences.
