It must be coming from German society.

The average German has finally had enough and the Chancellor is concerned Germans might become ungovernable. There’s only so much repression they can do before the repression, itself, creates further resistance.

They probably saw this: Translate: Are the military acts of Israel against Hamas justifed.

Translation: “Are the military acts of Israel against Hamas justified?”

They probably just got scared of go against most other European countries, because merz definitely does not give a single damn about palestine.

They cant allow people to form their own opinions on that matter, especially if they diverge from elite opinions. Thats why even in 2019 they literally cut the live-feed during an interview once a Palestinian man called out Israeli oppression. And libs wonder why their “democratic organs” are delegitimized and “misinformation” is widespread.

A recent poll has found that Germans just want to go back to genocides happening quietly, not where people might actually hear about them regularly.

          Sample size: my parents

I haven’t seen any evidence there’s widespread outrage in Germany; the government, media, bureaucracy, police and schools are 99% supportive of the genocide

Protests seem limited to a couple dozen people to occasionally a couple hundred spread out ineffectively across the country

There’s a recent video of an injured child stumbling through flames after Israel bombed a school, it’s became viral everywhere except the west

The German slime didn’t change his stance, his statement is just a one time release to offset international outrage should the video become viral IN THE WEST like the burning videos of last year

I have no idea what caused him to change his stance otherwise.

I’m assuming the guy got some non-public info on how that ICJ case is doing and doesn’t think it ends well if you have to explain how no, actually, we don’t give a shit about the geopolitical order. I think that’d be a tough sell to lots of germans, you don’t really get the kind of jingoistic approaches like, say, the US or Britain that much, it’s much more along the lines of being “the only sane man” doing technocratic aid
