You should also omit “under god”, since it was only added towards the beginning of the Cold War to “differentiate us from the godless communists”.

I have talked to people in the US who legit believe the BSA is “too woke”. This is the same organization that banned gay people from being members until middle of last decade, by the way.
Meanwhile Scouting Canada officially went co-ed in the 90’s and accepted gay members in the 00’s.
