I wanted to celebrate with all of you that I sold my car last night and am officially car free for the first time in my adult life. The feeling of liberation is even stronger than I anticipated.

Legs, bus, bike, and occasional car rental.

I live in a decently large city with a typically American dysfunctional transit system, but it’s good enough to get me to and from work.

Car rental is really only for trips to see family out of state. Before selling, I calculated that I could rent a car for one weekend every month of the year and that would cost less than I was paying for just my car insurance, so it’s still a win.
