A good insight on the feasibility of the eurostack [at the time of writing].

    Your users expect “Sign in with Google” and “Sign in with Apple.”

    Doubt it. Good app? They will use it anyway. How do they register for Google and Apple?

    If you want Claude, and I very much want Claude, that’s Anthropic, that’s the US.

    If you want EU, stop wanting Claude then. What’s the point here?

      @Undertaker @europe @genau

      I think we need a “Coalition of Freedom” to work with all those people in the USA who are resisting and organizing. That doesn’t mean buying from the US, but it does mean working with groups, such as Galloway’s Resist and Unsubscribe movement. I’m pissed off at America beyond words, but I do support those who are trying to resist and change things over there. Our Buy From EU/Canada campaigns are supported by those people there, which I appreciate.

        That’s quite a different perspective. For me, eurostacking is strategic, I don’t care what happens across the pond, I would strive to euromaxx even if some other regime was in control over there.

          @genau I don’t support Europe for blood and soil reasons. I support it for what it stands for: freedom, democracy, independence, liberty. Those are the qualities I support. It doesn’t matter regionally where those qualities appear: I’ll support them there. I think the EU matters more to me right now because I live here, because I’m half French, and because I think we need to do this regardless, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t care who wins over in America. I do care. (cont)

          @genau I care if democracy and liberty prevail everywhere, and that includes America. And the more Americans we have on our side, and the more that reject that Nazi regime, the better off we’ll be as well. So yes, I think it’s a good thing to be independent, and it’s a good thing to have help from allies, and to help them in return. Sorry for the long reply.

          @genau I don’t completely disagree with that perspective: I think that being independent is a good thing in itself. I encourage everyone to support this movement regardless. However, it’s not unrelated. And I do think 1) It matters what happens there and 2) we do have allies. It would be better if we didn’t have a literal enemy at our backs but, instead, an ally. And the more people we get to switch to supporting EU and FOSS projects there, the better off we’ll be. (cont).
