The state of data protection in this age is absolutely horrifying. We know that our data is extremely valuable to these huge companies. And yet there’s no duty of care or consequences for not properly protecting it.

I love how out of four reports, the editor here choose to title their article on the only one that focuses on the Māori people.

It couldn’t be more obvious that the decision was made to obfuscate, detract and distract from the larger message from these reports: Most of us are totally fucked and the super wealthy are as always insulated from the worst of the forthcoming.

Bet this gets lots of engagement on Facebook and Reddit, with the meaning totally going over everyones heads.

Companies by their own nature are profit seeking above everything else, so I trust them to do anything in their power to deliver profits to the shareholders. I don’t trust them not to rape the oceans to death.

Things like bottom trawling are a bit fucked… It’s literally scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to our fish stocks.

Weird when experts say we can give fishing areas less than a decade of rest and they can bounce back provided they aren’t totally destroyed… But fish stock preservation isn’t in the companies interests.

I know so many stoners that were pissed that the referendum failed… Did they vote? Nah. Too stoned.
