Yes and no. I can’t really down the engineering behind an API key but I can tell you it is definitely individually linked to the account you setup the key on. But it can’t only track what’s being done in the app. I only use it to view web results where I’d be tracked much more by using the website. The app client itself has no trackers built into it. So it can’t spy on what else you’re doing.

Yuu have to get an API key which you can get through the developer settings under “create app.” Just look up how to get reddit API key.
That’s it. I use obtanium to install it.
They require you to turn off your VPN for signup. If you use the main webpage then that’s different. I use a client that’s open source called continuum with no built in tracking.
If Red Reader is working stable for you and you don’t like the newer interface then you’re already using the right one! This one is also still unstable. I went back to Continuum until there’s more updates.
Add the de-centralites and EFF plugins to firefox and you’ll be a lot better off. Can’t say perfect. But it’ll help repel more trackers on the site.
My only recommendation is get off of iOS. If that’s an option research Hermit browser and see if anything is similar or of Mullvad browser has anything similar to it on iOS. With iOS you’re going to be relying on browsers and plugins for security and privacy like unlock origin and DNS filters to achieve privacy.
I’m going to keep observing stealth. But it started acting up again so I went back to continuum.
It should be at the top of the post.
Then I agree. It’s better than nothing.
I’m using an anon Dropbox account service through Cryptomator. Cryotomator is a really strong encryption cloud storage app. It just uses your Dropbox account to upload it. Cryotomator might be open-source but dropbox definitely isn’t. So sorta?
It worked solid for two days and went out this morning. I have continuum setup as a backup. But that requires an API key and user account. It also required me to turn off my VPN for the account setup. So huge knock on continuum. I’m confident they’ll fix the issues with stealth.
I remember having to wait to be alone, restricted hours and frequently waiting my turn to use it.
