Technology@lemmy.world•AI companies are learning an ironic lesson as the people they pay to improve their chatbots are just feeding AI slop into themEnglish
2·7 days agoWell, it is always fun to play with the balls and the girls.
How? It’s been part of the news circle for two decades minimum.
I’ll give a hint because it might be a harder question to some people than one would think.

Þæt weder wyrceþ þæt ymbhwyrft for þē. Nōht þæs micel is þæt þū scealt dōn.
I did reverse image search, since i too tought this was rather old. It’s from 2018.
Been around before Ai. Reverse image search finds it in 2018 the first time.

Wow, missed that one. Yeah, best tell so far.
Everybody is chewing. The guy behind her dosn’t seem to hold anything in his hand and is nibbeling at his fingers.
Her right hand looks unaturaly stiff, while she puts her left hand on top of the pizza on to the cheese.
Nobody in this video moves a finger. Hands are moved, but they all act like frozen in their relative position.
As i do every time somebody posts this article:
The headline is misleading. It’s not 57 “companies”. The original source speaks of “Entities”.
Number one on that List of 57? The former Soviet Union. Good luck holding them responsible. Next to several state controlled Actors like Gazprom (6th) or Saudi Armaco (3rd), some privat companies like ExxonMobile (5th), there are entities like Chinas Coal production from 1945 - 2004 (2nd) North Korea (57th) or Cinas Cement production (13th).
The list shows that oil companies cause a lot of emissions (but apparently not as much as the former soviet union). To absolutly nobodies suprise.
Next to holding them accountable for their emissions (and their lobbying, pro oil propaganda, etc) we need to find ways to reduce emissions in our lives. Those companies will only stop if their products is less and less needed.

611·15 days agoA friend of mine used to cancel appointments a lot. A common friend of ours got really pissed about having their appointments canceled repetedly, often very late or last minute. Their friendship broke over it, tough it was only the last staw.
Appointments i had with my friend got canceled too a lot. I spoke about it with her and it turned out that she was having mental health issues and just didn’t find the curage to be open about it. So we talked it over and now the agreement is that i always treat plans we make as optional. A cancelation is expected and never a big deal, i’ll always have a backup plan ready.
I guess what i’m saying is, don’t think it nececarily has to be about a person not wanting to meet with you, sometimes they just can’t. And that is fine.
I think that’s called an obsession.
No worries, neither can the people who like it.
An AI-Generated Country Song Is Currently Topping Charts in America
I came across this post a day ago and have since then read the book. I just wanted do say thank you for posting it, that was quite interesting to read.
It was written in 1969 and that shows in a few places (everybody smokes (including gods), the expected sexism for the time, some transphobia). Compared to the Dying Earth Saga, which is the only other SF from the period i have read, it was bareable thow.
But as a Buddhist and SF fan this was down my alley and i loved reading it.

541·1 month agoI am a european in my 40s and have never, ever, encountered a shit like described here.
Every time i read about it i wander if it’s because i am just not exposed to the specific food causing it, or if americans just eat so much unhealthy stuff that their digestive system is just fucked up for good. And to this day i don’t know the answer.

What would that be then?
