I loved them as a kid for exactly that reason. I was not good at video games in the NES era, and Kirby was the one game I could actually beat. It was cool not just replaying the same 2-3 levels over and over again for hours.

The other possibility is that they’re thinking of it in a defensive mindset and aren’t wanting to put anything in writing that could be construed as acknowledging fault, in case it results in a lawsuit.

“The economy will suffer if intelligent, technologically advanced alien life is confirmed” is the most stereotypically capitalist take. I love it.

Well, assuming that’s the entire email that was sent, some basic level of empathy might not have been amiss. “So sorry about that, are you okay? We’ll pay for the glasses. Obviously this behavior isn’t okay; we’ve discussed it and we’re going to try…”
Turning rust into lead gets you lead to turn into gold… That’s some 5head thinking there.
The funniest thing about this is that if they did actually propose it, Trump would be absolutely stupid not to support it; it would basically ensure GOP domination in every major election for the foreseeable future if we lost California’s blue votes.
What I’m saying here is, don’t stop at California, include all the other blue states, too, please. Take us with you. :(

It’s only really an issue for AAA titles. There’s millions of indie games out there that will run just fine on 10 year old hardware. If this kills the AAA game industry, I think it’s doing us all a favor.
Yeah, hey, on that note, maybe Denmark would like to acquire the United States.

Honestly, if they just played the trailers before the movie is scheduled to start, I’d be much more into them. Having something to watch for the period between when you get there and the start time would be great. If anyone wanted to see more trailers, they could just arrive earlier.

I don’t really know anything about NED or what they do, but if every House democrat voted not to cut their funding, I’m much more inclined to trust that they know more about the subject than I do and there’s some reason for those votes, over believing the opinions of presented on some random person’s Substack page.

Achievements (for me, at least) are just a reason to spend more time with a game that I enjoy. In most cases, I have trouble enjoying a game if I don’t have goals to work towards (either game-imposed or self-imposed). If I finish the main part of the game, and am not tired of it yet, achievements give me goals that I can follow if I want to keep playing.
Definitely agree that there’s too many games that have achievements that are just in no way worth the time and aren’t even fun as an auxiliary goal, though. The best ones are the ones that get you to do things you otherwise wouldn’t (e.g. playing a non-standard playthrough of the game). The lazy ones (‘Kill X enemies, Earn Y dollars’) are just busywork or earned ‘automatically’ while doing other things and add nothing.

Or Risktego - it’s a game of Risk, where each battle is determined by an individual game of Stratego.

Is it that billionaires are more likely to hold office, or that people who hold office are more likely to be filthy rich? Likely both, but an interesting but missing statistic would be what the average net worth of people who enter public office is vs. what their net worth is when they leave.
Well, I’d agree with you that the least colored one is the best for drinking. That doesn’t make it good for drinking, but better than the other options, which are markedly worse.
This is purely speculative and not based on real-world experience.

Well, that makes much more sense.

The conservative influencer organized the group that was in support of ICE, that got chased off / beaten up by the anti-ICE demonstrators.
Edit: Nevermind, I misunderstood what you were saying.
I don’t, which is why I clearly stated the assumption I was making and positioned my comment as conditional on that assumption being true.
