I feel like of all places to try and scam people lemmy is… Not a good choice? From what I’ve seen (and I haven’t been around too long tbf) the community gravitates towards more tech-savvy and educated people, so unlikely to fall for scams like these. They’d have better luck on Facebook probably, just attach an AI-generated Jesus and they’d make mad cash lmao

For me the one I remember most was just being mega nauseous and dazed. I had a killer headache and tummyache combo and was also like… Kind of overly emotional lol? Definitely overshared and said thing I would have never said otherwise. But for better or worse I barely remember what I did! Walking home was also crazy, it felt like the world just kept spinning and putting one foot in front of the other was a whole ordeal.

It wasn’t bad enough that emergency services had to get involved, though my brother did call once we were back at his flat just to be sure. They told him to make sure I stayed conscious and didn’t fall asleep in a way where I could choke if I threw up and to call again if my breathing became too slow. And the next morning I had the worst hangover of my life. 0/10 do not recommend, miserable experience all around lol

I keep two windows side by side: the left one has my email, youtube and sometimes a comic I’m reading or audiobook; the right one has a browser virtual pet game I check every few hours and is where I open new tabs to check lemmy, imgur, etc. Pretty clean! But then the moment I work on either art or coding I open a third window that usually gets to 10+ tabs oops

Happened to me once when two of my friends started dating and then had a nasty breakup. Thankfully they didn’t involve me in it, worst that happened was one of them did complain about the other to me but it didn’t devolve into full on shittalking thankfully, and I just told them point blank I’m still friends with their ex and while their frustrations are valid, I’m not comfortable with them venting to me. We’re all adults so that’s where it ended and I’m still friends with both! I don’t think they ever made up but I also don’t feel it’s my place to ask lol it’s been years at this point so it’s just water under the bridge

If this keeps happening to you I’m afraid you need better friends. Unless the reason they’re fighting is due to something serious (assault, robbery, discrimination, etc.) there’s no reason they should involve you. I know it can be hard to be harsh with people you care about, but sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is to tell them to grow up lol, sometimes people need to watch all their bridges burn before they realise they’re the one that needs to change

For something spicier, around the end of Italy’s involvement in WWII Mussolini called his followers to move to the north of Italy. My aunt’s family were fascists (my aunt was a child at the time) and they were planning on going there too with this bus that was gathering fascists to move them all north. My aunt’s family had one massive trunk with all their belongings and it didn’t fit into the bus so they were forced to stay… Which was ultimately a good thing because that bus was stopped by the partisans who gunned everyone down before reaching Milan. Definitely!! There’s a few I frequent too (funny enough mostly attached to virtual pet sites lol), but it’s sad how many communities have moved to Discord. Which don’t get me wrong I like Discord, I’ve been in really fun servers and use it to talk to my friends, but it sucks for archiving purposes and is just not a good replacement for forums imo
