  • Absolutely.

I don’t want this to happen again. I don’t want to be strongarmed into voting for a reprehensible piece of genocidal shit only to have the genocide cult blame me anyway.

I think you just assume more people are pro-genocide than there are. Its just about combativeness, a good position is undermined when its put out negatively. You have good positions (imo) other than thinking a ton of people are pro-genocide/indifferent(and thus pro-genocide) and … maybe that their minds arent able to be changed? Or something, its very negative nonetheless. Thats part of protesting. Changing minds. And informing. A lot of people pay zero attention to politics.

“Schumer has been around forever so he must care” … and then mysteriously a democrat (totally not a scapegoat) will vote with the republicans for some new evil shit.

We were forced into the 2 party system even further than just republicans and democrats, which was already a 2 way divide (ignoring eeeeevvveryone else) to support Netanyahu or support Netanyahu and multiple other dictators, along with re-electing our own Goodly Bestest Dictator.

  • “Not shitty all the time” is still not comparable to Trump. He literally sits in his own shit. The electorate was successfully stopped in multiple ways, including the explosion closer to the election about Palestine. Propoganda was used to push it crazy hard due to its volatility being so popular (in terms of clicks/views/whatever). I still stand by the point you probably wouldve held which is that we can protest to change minds. Larger protests against Harris and the USA as a whole continuing to support a genocide would have been more effective for keeping democracy around a little longer. We wouldnt get shot in the street for dancing in costumes or be consideres terrorists for protesting for LGBTQIA+ rights, as well.

  • Ahh so thats what you mean- Indifferent people and idiots. You could say something more along the lines of “Indifference has led to genocide over and over. Harris did not oppose a genocide, relying on that indifference. Dont be indifferent.” Its longer than “you support genocide”, but its nicer and gets the same basic point across. “Dont support genocide” is also an option, attacking the people whos’ minds you want to change/could change isnt productive.

  • Blaming people who noticed and did… what exactly? I consider democrats to be what republicans probably should be. I also think we have gotten repeatedly screwed. Ford v Dodge, Cit U, “trickledown ec.”, etc, those are extremely obvious indicators of Rulers vs Peasants being the goal over and over. Both sides are supported by different evils, both are still evil. Both want some form of a surveillance state. Both want to reduce the power of the voter. Senators exist still. Thats a giant middle finger to people who arent born with a silver spoon already in their intestinal tract.

  • “You don’t seem to mind”

Another random and unjustified poke/whatever. You should realize at this point that Im in favour of being able to reason with people instead of the other option of a person who literally attempted to overthrow the government. We were intentionally given a very bad pick between 2, but it was frozen airline food chicken vs shattered glass and nails. At least you eat the chicken and change it to make it less awful. Stomaching ≠ supporting, which you have indicated already with your statement of having voted for Harris.

  • This I can somewhat agree with. Thats why I said we need a new method of voting. Supporting someone for being “less murdery” is insane. It doesnt mean you or I, who voted for (despite having issues with) Harris, are evil or support genocide.

Undefined centrist democrats are also not a monolith, saying they all have the same opinions says a lot of weird stuff about you that Im sure arent true. You just havent thought about how youre classifying “enemies” or how you view groups who generally disagree with you.

Its like hating pizza because some of them have pineapples on them, or because some are too cheesy. Well, thats a chill version at least.

Unless supporting genocide and wanting to be represented by genocidal monsters is the only qualifier? Id agree with you there, but still say tone down the agressive “you must like genocide” meter.

  • Which centrists? You direct that at everyone who is, and who you think is, a “centrist”, without defining a set of positions you believe they have. Why are they all a genocide supporting monolith? Or are you taking people and assuming many things about them like another group tends to towards specific races?

Define, dont attack. Debate over argument. Conversation over debate. No reason to wreck your position with exaggerated responses and statements. The world isnt a strawman, my dude.

  • You certainly seem to say it a lot.

No, because I only went through to troll you. I dont have the time to fart around doing this. If you would calm down and be less extreme in your retorts to people, it wouldnt be so bad. Conversations, not debates or arguments, will change many more minds.

I think you would agree that Israel, especially in its current form, is evil to an insane degree. They completely destroyed the people who were displaced from their homes for Israel to be formed in the first place. Before the initial bombings or fights of any description, Israels existence was already an affront to equality, just due to that land theft. Palestinians have dealt with an unimaginable amount of multigenerational suffering and torment.

A “solution” after the war shouldnt have been more racism and destruction.

  • Such a scold lol I like that one

Yes, change requires changing, sometimes reform needs to happen as well. I agree that democrats are, on many issues, what republicans should be right now. They are conservative and do not represent most of the country very well. They still dont want to abuse, torture, and send people to death camps. Oh, and Im sure voting against a rapist was hard.

Voting against someone as opposed to for someone is awful and definitely does result in a slide to the right. Saying it cant be overcome or being very negative about it does nothing.

  • Im not and havent supported or defended pro-genocide people. My original point is that you cant magically fingerwaggle a perfect person into existence. Stopping excess damage with a person we can actually speak english to at a level above a kindergardener, and can be reasoned with via protest if necessary.

Not insane people are probably easier to talk to, yeah?

Being so abrasive makes others want to vote less. You are actively making people less likely to vote.

  • “Centrist democrats are selling guns -” What percentage of centrist democrats have the ability to stop or facilitate a greater degree of human-destruction objects being sold? Is Mrs. Cookie, a fabricated centrist democrat, able to sell weaponry herself? How do you know how she feels on that specific topic? She’s a centrist democrat so she must be pro-genocide! Some “democrats” in congress arent COMPLETELY MONOLITHICALLY representative of everyone who voted for them. Or do you agree with every single thing your representative says or does?
