It’s because if you say you take the bus it implies that you only need one and have no transfers. If somebody needs to go two cardinal directions to get to their destination they need two buses, ie they are lost to the American public transportation system and won’t be seen until archeologists find their remains.

The hubris of those who wish to travel 7 kilometers or more using public transit in the States is punished. Those who wish to travel 5 miles swiftly learn that feat is only attainable in a a minimum of 4 hours or alternatively you can walk or bike and get run over at a crosswalk by a pickup with more blindspots than a Abrams tank.

Anybody giving you that advice did not follow it themselves and probably works at somewhere that their friends or family set them up with.

Personally I’m far more concerned with the amount of sauce I’ve been seeing on pizza than people’s choice of toppings, but i honestly don’t mind pineapple. The right amount and I find it a nice sweet flavor that goes nice with spicy toppings like jalapeno.

On the sauce thing, It’s getting to the point where it’s easier to list places that don’t just give you cheesy bread with a microscopic level of sauce because apparently that’s the norm around here.

Yes I’m sure you’ve never heard of the American national anthem that still calls the US the land of the free during all of this. I brought up hazardous heat conditions and tied that into this new policy to point out a criticism of America. I brought up the fact that the national anthem calls it the land of the free to point out hypocrisy.

Yes I’ve heard of night just like I said in the quoted text people were getting severe burns and needing to be hospitalized because they were not expecting the gate to their house to be that hot at nearly midnight.

As someone who lives somewhere that just got up to 120° f hot metal is no joke. We had a ton of people hospitalized a few years back because they went to open gates to their homes and weren’t expecting scolding hot metal when it was already like 11pm.

I’m not going to hate this because it’s a idea that doesn’t work, I’m going to hate it because it’s just another method to harm people who want to come to the land of the free.
