Physically I’ve dropped a lot of flour and such over the years. Sugar as well. Sugar is worse because we get sugar ants so I have to make sure to scrub down everything so they don’t appear and swarm.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you cook when you want to impress your guests?
3·1 day agoAccording to my husband, anything with garlic, onion, and sautéed those both in butter smells very fancy.
If I had time to plan though, I’d make ravioli and freeze them and make sauce when they came over.
The only dough that knows my fears was the hamantaschen but every since I started only using King Arthur flour, they’ve never failed again.
Not sponsored
(But if they want to sponsor me, I’m open to this)
Now that song is stuck in my head! Oh no!
Is it more interesting now? As a child who went there in the 90s for the summer, it was pretty boring. We’d go to the ymca more than anything on the strip.

AskUSA@discuss.online•Is jury duty mandatory for all US citizens?English
1·2 days agoI’ve gotten jury summons. I had thought I got a permanent excusal but apparently not. I was called about a month ago. Friday before, excused. Which was good because my primary doctor now refuses to give out excusals despite them doing this before. I had a permanent because I’m the primary caretaker for someone with cerebral palsy. Oh well, even before doctors notes I’d have just told the judge that if I was actually called up to the bench.
Fey was probably delighted inside to see that trick. Very good trick! Now a reason to come back to get their name from you and stay in the story!
Dishwasher does the jars, but he does fill and empty the dishwasher!
I… don’t trust him with a knife and he doesn’t trust himself either. Shelling peas though, that’s a good idea!
It helps me to garden because my health concerns are mostly becoming overly tired and physically uhhh sad. So the work can make those two lessened.
It’s not very feasible for my husband who has cerebral palsy unless we did a lot of expensive setup so he could do most of it seated.

she’s doing good. She doesn’t like everyone in the house is sick though, and hates the routine disruption. So she’s snuggled in her comfort spot, under the couch.Picture from the night before.

I’ve used these, and made it by the instructions. A tip. You have to stir a lot to get the squares to dissolve nicely instead of gloopily clinging to the veggies/meat/whatevers. Just keep stirring and stirring.
In a mud, I played a fisher cat person, whose only weapon skill was a sling. And boy howdy if you were accurate animals just fucking dropped. I’d usually hunt rabbits with it and they could be one shot kills. The deer like creatures would usually take a few hits but I once got a headshot and it was just gone. No slowly walking towards it while slinging, it was just down.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•If Peaceful Aliens beamed down. Wouldn't we pose as much problem as them being out immunities and diseases are different from them? And vice versa? So we could accidentally kill one?English
2·5 days agoYeah. Either aliens can’t even get here because it’s too far, or they have technology so advanced they can get here easily, which means the tech is so advanced they could be watching TV with us and we’d never know.

2·5 days agoI was actually talking to my mother about her vaccine scar today. She says she had a friend who got vaccinated the same time she did. But her friends mother was super vain, so told the vaccinator guy to give her daughter the shot on her thigh, so a swim suit would cover it.
But outer thigh is lower than where bathing suits show so you saw the scar anyway, and the mother was pissed. Mother’s friend didn’t care though, since she was a kid.
Man I love chicken salad. It’s just great on a sub roll!
My sometimes lying rice cooker does a high pitched beeping. So high pitched my husband who can’t hear high pitched sounds can’t hear it.
