In a mud, I played a fisher cat person, whose only weapon skill was a sling. And boy howdy if you were accurate animals just fucking dropped. I’d usually hunt rabbits with it and they could be one shot kills. The deer like creatures would usually take a few hits but I once got a headshot and it was just gone. No slowly walking towards it while slinging, it was just down.

Ask Science@lemmy.world•If Peaceful Aliens beamed down. Wouldn't we pose as much problem as them being out immunities and diseases are different from them? And vice versa? So we could accidentally kill one?English
2·1 day agoYeah. Either aliens can’t even get here because it’s too far, or they have technology so advanced they can get here easily, which means the tech is so advanced they could be watching TV with us and we’d never know.

2·1 day agoI was actually talking to my mother about her vaccine scar today. She says she had a friend who got vaccinated the same time she did. But her friends mother was super vain, so told the vaccinator guy to give her daughter the shot on her thigh, so a swim suit would cover it.
But outer thigh is lower than where bathing suits show so you saw the scar anyway, and the mother was pissed. Mother’s friend didn’t care though, since she was a kid.
Man I love chicken salad. It’s just great on a sub roll!
My sometimes lying rice cooker does a high pitched beeping. So high pitched my husband who can’t hear high pitched sounds can’t hear it.

2·2 days agoShe agrees, it was the polio vaccine in the sugar cube. She was also unable to get a second cube, as the small white girl in the bright red coat was very distinctive and they told her to stop trying to get another cube.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Will vendors in America still accept my tip even after paying them?
4·2 days agoThey wouldn’t know how much it was, and they wouldn’t know how to exchange it. But they’d probably go to their bank with the note(s) and the bank would tell them how and where to exchange it.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How often do you spend time with family and what do you do?
2·2 days agoI live with my husband and twin so I’m seeing them every day. My mother I see occasionally but probably not enough. She travels a fair deal so I’m never quite sure when she’s nearby. Sometimes it’s for holidays or dinner so probably eating is what we do.
Japan loves to make hybrid food and I love seeing them!

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are there any story ripoffs that are actually good?
7·2 days agoI still go back to listen to the music from that sometimes.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Has a job ever baited and switched you? Tell me about it!
10·2 days agoHired for deli. Deli is a different union and pays better than say, cashier.
Which is what they moved us to immediately.
Asked if they were going to pay our hired wage or not. They did. I think they thought we knew it was a bait and switch. Didn’t until later, but they were careful to not lower the wage cause then yeah. Go to the board.
How it feels when my brain can’t find the word anymore, and my husband has to figure out what I mean by “I think we have to go get go get go get uhhh… something round… and warm…” he does eventually either get it, or my brain unlocks the word.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?
3·2 days agoSun Haven with twin. They added the ability to teleport to the various farms, cool. The water zone and the new city zone, while aesthetically cool, ate boring. No farm, just basically one quest line in both. Sadness.

19·2 days agoMy mother has this scar, when she was vaccinated on a reservation.
She also remembers they’d give you a sugar cube with a different vaccine on it at the time. She tried to get it multiple times.
Being told I’m on the spectrum, by a medical person was like.
Oh
I’m not a weirdo for no reason. I’m not being picky because I can’t stand certain fabrics. I’m not being an asshole (…debateable) for being overstimulated without words to explain it. Those other children were being dicks to me, it wasn’t just me being sensitive.
A relief. Not much of one, but I cling to it.

3·3 days agoMe and twin love playing multiplayer together, although these days with lots of mods.
Twin always manages to marry Krobus even though I want to, but one of the mods adds Apples so I have them move in!
About to go get another too much sleep myself, see y’all later!

Autism@lemmy.world•It's Thursday 03/19/2026. Hey, What's Going On!
2·4 days agoTomorrow I get up at early fucking o’clock for a doctors appointment. Tiring.
I was sick last night. Probably due to me being an idiot and overeating instead of any medical stuff.
I should drink a lot of water today. I suspect they’ll take my blood tomorrow.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What were the best thing(s) for you about moving out of your parents home?
3·4 days agoMy food won’t get eaten by grandmother so that was nice. There’s a guy over there that’s always there and loves me? That’s pretty sweet. I can be silly and not usually get sighed at? There’s more, but my brain is very holey tonight.

I’ve used these, and made it by the instructions. A tip. You have to stir a lot to get the squares to dissolve nicely instead of gloopily clinging to the veggies/meat/whatevers. Just keep stirring and stirring.
