Voltage at the generation end is limited by the practical limits of insulating the windings (coils of wire in the generator that need to be close together but insulated from each other), usually top out about 25 kV for steam or gas turbines. This would usually be stepped up to 275 kV or 400 kV for long distance transmission, then back down to 33 kV for local distribution (at least in the UK).

Different solar panels generate different voltages, also depends on how they’re wired together. Not sure what the big solar parks use, but much lower than a fossil fuel plant for sure. That’s DC, so needs converted to AC and stepped up for transmission. Some smaller solar farms are connected straight into distribution networks.

Both power transformers and DC/AC converters do give off a bit of a hum at 50/60 Hz, but again shouldn’t be anywhere close to the noise of a FF plant.

Do you mean like subtraction is just adding a negative number, and division is just multiplication by the inverse of a number? In that case I don’t really see how it simplifies things much because negatives and inverses still need as much definition. Or are you talking about bit-wise operations like a computer would use to do these things?

I’m not saying this MacAllen is an escape of this, but there are plenty of people who buy and keep whiskey as an investment asset, and it can be pretty reliable by all accounts.
So I guess it could be ‘worth’ 27k in some sense, just not to drink it. The most expensive whiskey I tried was I think £1000 bottle (sample at a whiskey festival, I didn’t buy it), and it just tasted like pencil sharpenings to me.

Yes in a way, but so much more! A macaroni pie is macaroni cheese filling in a pastry case (usually a single serving size that fits comfortably in a hand). Pie and roll is a delightfully Scottish way of eating a pie.
