Autistic and ADHD, Im a huge nerd who loves researching whatever interests me that day. My lifetime passions range from AI(actual AI, not LLMs. I was working on AI a decade before LLMs hit he market), programming, inventing, educating, futurism, tech, space, and for the last couple years bioengineering. I use lemmy as my only “social media”, and even then i mostly use it for news or memes. I hate society as is it ableist, hippocritical, uncaring to those whose value cant be extracted, and most humans are pretty cringe. As such i have no desire for “social media”, it suffers from the exact same issues reality TV suffers from.

I do have a biological desire to socialize however, so i prefer to have a small group i am intensely devoted towards, whether that be friends, family, or a lover. If youre looking for a personal connection i would like for you to reach out, but if youre a guy then be forewarned: i will not respond to misogyny, i cant comfort you,

  • Nah, it wasnt anything truly revolutionary. It was just some weird impedence effect we didnt fully understand how it was utilizing. AI doesnt really produce NEW stuff, but its really good at taking advantage of physics weve already worked out. Its not going to design a NEW chip, but it can pretty easily optimize existing chips or design a “new” layout that might be more efficient.

  • Hate to tell you this m8, but they just created an AI that can hack any system, can break its own containment, and can program AI better than any human. We’ve got maybe 2 years to live. I dont really think its likely anyone can stop it now, but had we done something about rampant capitalism about a decade ago we probably couldve hit post scarcity by now.

  • Do this is ALMOST an actual thing. Seems like this guy tried to use an LLM to do something useful, lol. Meanwhile actual scientists are using actual AI to design actual conputer chips that actually perform better than their human competitors. That being said, the new chips are not “end-to-end” AI, theyre designed by AI and a human does the final touches. Theyre also highly unique, i cant find the article now but their AI designed a chip that seemed to use extra parts, i remember there was a diode and transistor that were literally completely seperated from the traces of the rest of the chip, and yet they were functional pieces and the chip wouldnt work if you removed them.

If i see elephants juggling, training their kids to juggle, getting jobs to support their juggling, creating an entire finanical system around juggling, then yes, I might begin to suspect that juggling is in their nature.

You guys keep pushing this idea that its the rich forcing this on us, but its not. Its you. The person reading this comment right now is enabling the rich by not stopping them. Theres this idea that humans are good, but if thats the case, then where are those good people? Why is it that every single time humans group together we start commiting atrocities? If the good people arent going to stop the bad people, then theyre not good people.

Look around you. This is human nature. Because if it werent, we wouldve done something about it. But it simply is part of human nature to either be evil, or to enable others to do so.

  • Again, why would you want to do buisness with the US? We’re at best an unreliable customer, at worst an active nuisance and threat to the human race. If being anti-isreal means you cant get public funding, then I guess being anti-fascist makes you anti-taxes? Not sure why people arent shutting down the IRS anyways since i cant opt out of them stealing my check to line the pockets of the rich.
