Redundancy is almost always a good thing. If something goes wrong with one form, they have the backup while they fix it.

There is a road going up there, and as another user pointed out there are overland cables connecting it to the rest of the system.
Let’s see the lettuce hold up against this one.

I can only see a future where Ukraine weens off of American support and finds alternatives elsewhere in nations that not only are on significantly friendlier terms, but more reliable ones as well. It’ll come to no surprise to me if other nations that buy from our contractors start to do less of that as well.

Sort of. With something as simple as a hammer sure, but when the hammer is equipped with a 9mm pistol then it falls under different safety standards that deem the tool inherently unsafe. A physical tool would be recalled if somebody got hurt in an unintended way.

Thought this was a cat at first.

The straightness of the bananas aren’t the issue, it’s the waste created by throwing out perfectly good bananas for not being purportedly aesthetically pleasing enough.
Nobody is forcing you to buy a straight banana, but you are being forced to have your only banana option be curved.

I know it’s not the point, but if she thinks her shoe is stupid, that’s kinda on her.

The problem is that they’re removing analogue redundancies. Sure gps can tell them where they are and where to go, but what if that computer breaks down at sea, or something happens to the service and they can get an accurate update in a meaningful amount of time? When things break, we can always fall back on the redundancy in place, but when those are removed, then sailors are SOL when something stops working.
This isn’t about the tangible flag as an item but as a symbol of what the flag represents. Removing the flag is the first step in a series of patterns of erasure. If you accept this, then you might accept the next small step, then the next one, then the next one, and so on.
I’ll leave this as, “I disagree with your opinion and I don’t personally believe you wouldn’t be alright with further erasure given your openness to be ok with any amount of erasure.”
