He nearly faced burn out. So he set his own boundary and communication pipeline so we can focus on Piefed developpement instead on dealing on fedidrama.

I’m fucking through. I’ve moved my comms three times, building them up from scratch each time. I don’t have a fourth in me, and the Fediverse isn’t lively enough on my fields of interest for me to go without and just browse, even if I migrated only my account and not my comms.

That’s both the curse and the joy of free software. I alway moved to follow my values even thought i lose a lot each time. In a sense that’s also why i dom’t blame reddit users, they have enough and don’t want to change. They just want to be there with their friends. Sorry if the recent change didn’t fit your needs. Maybe you have an alternative idea to suggest to piefed dev but mind that’s not a post quota but a vote quota.

That’s completly misinterpretating the purpose and ideas of the vote quota. I don’t understand your reaction on limiting the vote from the top 10% voters.

The voting quota is set above the average vote made by users. So most of users won’t ever reach that limit. That meant 90% of users. For me it’s a good thing to limit our interaction a little and our influence on the fediverse.

But if you disagree with the choice made by piefed’s dev, you can try pylova from quokk.au. she will take a different path than Rimu and it will fit everyone because we will have different flavours of the same software. ;)

And your vote quota is low, i think you won’t be able to reach its limit except if you use a bot to cast vote.

Yeah few people post lot thing as we do. That’s the same for wikipedia. 90-10-1 rule. We could set a post quota too, i would be fine with reducing the amount of content shared here and slower interaction.

Voting makes the Threadiverse “welcoming”. You call it dopamine but however it is implemented, it makes people feel good to be here, and to contribute to a community.

It won’t impact them. The vote quota is high and you miss the point. Ask yourself why it was created.

Let’s take another example. We organize a metting with several people and two people are completly monopolizying the meeting and sharing their idea.

What if we try to balance a little speech duration during the meeting ? What if we ask those users who speak the most to stop and let other sharing their idea ? That’s what we do in our anarchist meeting, we try to balance and limit power.

The voting quota is set above the average voting quota. You won’t see its effect except if you belong of the top users that vote a lot.

So what are you arguing about ? It will only impact few users, not you.

I would completly remove voting system because it completly miss its point. It is not very useful.

It doesn’t help people finding content but tell people, company what we support on the largest userbase community : “I like this, i don’t like this. Most of users here enjoyed this post.”

“Yes, no, yes, yes, no.” I think this is a binary thinking.

Those reaction doesn’t help me at all. I think it is fine to enjoy or not the post and comment. But we can imagine something better than Reddit at shorting content.

For example, youtube’s video have also a like/dislike bar. Why are we following and using the same tool made by big tech ? IMO, this system is designed to shoot us with a small dose of dopamine that boost our ego and profil us for advertissements since we know what you like.

They were mostly created to held our attention on screen…and deprive us from our sleep.

If you go that way, the instance chooser should indicate the vote quota set by admin.

But, honnestly, the vote quota is so high that very few people can reach it. For me, it work as the scaled filter for post.

Yeah i also like this vote quota. I would even go futher to completly remove it and find another system that can help us select content.

La difficulté avec le miroir est que les compte masto ne diffuse pas de publi sur un seul sujet mais plusieurs.

Après, à voir comment ça pourrait se faire. Peut-etre un puglin piefed qui crossposte dans une commu selon le flair utilisé.

Mais j’utilise aussi les hashtag donc à la main ça me prend plus de temps. Sinon on prend le principe de tournesol et on l’adapte pour les liens d’actu, et comme ça chacun et chacune fera ensemble sa petite selection ?

Je pense sincèrement que ça remplacerait complèètement le système de vote +1 -1 que je trouve :

Débile, vide…pour moi ce système de trie est pourri, je préfère de loin le trie par ordre chronologique.

Je pense que piefed gagnerait bcp à jetter ce système de vote par la fenêtre et avoir un truc du style tournesol à la place.

Par compte d’actu j’entends par là surtout des comptes qui partage des liens autour de divers sujet comme ici.

Plutot specifique comme Khrys, paul denton, cnrs…si j’ai une personne qui me parle de la blouse de kevin, grele dans son appart au milieu de publi de la conf paysanne, nous allons etre noyé par les notifs et l’abandonner.

Donc mon idée est de faire un gros trie et de prendre que quelque comptes masto et se les réparti. Et vous inviter à y participer que ce soit pas tout le temps la meme personne, qu’on fasse 1-2 comptes masto.

Ya par exemple le cnrs, mediapart, arret sur image…ça fait bcp, c’est du 8 publi par jour. mais si on en fait un peu chacun et chacune sur quelque compte masto ça deviendra gérable.

Lemmy n’a pour le moment pas affiché le souhait de se connecter au microblog. Piefed c’etait sur sa roadmap depuis un long moment et le support des API ont prit bcp de temps.

On a un support partiel de mobilizon aussi. Tout les publi du microblog sont affichés sur c/microblog et c’est mélangé (ya des personnes que je conmais pas). Les abonnés sont dispo sur la page de profil.

À savoir yaura pas tous les coms et publi…c’est un début.

Je sais pas trop ce que vient faire la beauté de la chroniqueuse. C’est vrai qu’on a plus tendance à associer des traits comme beau = intelligent, attentif…

Et les écouter d’avantage, mais c’est un piège. Moi j’aimerai vraiment qu’on évite ce genre de remarque que je trouve déplacé.
