Since you like Psycho, I’d recommend Peeping Tom by Michael Powell or several movies by Mario Bava from the era like The Girl Who Knew Too Much and Blood and Black Lace. Eyes Without a Face is also Great. Also Rosemary’s Baby and Repulsion by Polanski. For Japanese Films you should check out Yojimbo, Sword of Doom, and 2 by Seijun Suzuki ; Branded to Kill and Tokyo Drifter. Also check out Dr. Strangelove by Kubrick and if you like New Hollywood westerns , etc Bonnie and Clyde and The Wild Bunch are requisites. French New Wave stuff is important so maybe Breathless and Band of Outsiders and of course Melville’s “Le Samourai.” Spaghetti Westerns were very influential and Leone’s Man With No Name Trilogy ( A Fistful of Dollars, For a few Dollars More, The Good the Band and the Ugly ) and Once Upon A time in The West are a good starting point. There are so many but those are a few recommendations that might send you down further rabbit holes.

2·3 months agoAs you should. The admins and moderators of this instance share in that sentiment. It would be a contradiction of this organization’s mission statements and policies aimed at protecting artists if that’s the case.

1·3 months agoThanks. I’ll try to be more thorough in the future. I thought the post to be relatively self-explanatory and I usually just post articles, etc as is and leave opinons for comment section but I can adjust. I didn’t see all the technical info listed but I’ll try to be more detailed in the future. When i find hard to find movies on YouTube I’m usually happy to see them at all but I hear you and understand.

Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Why solar power is the only viable power source in the long run
41·3 months agoIt’s a nitpick sure but a weird thing to state in the article.
I agree with both points in this sentence. I appreciate your feedback. The author cold have elaborated on that point more but it’s such a minor part of the article and I’m surprised to see people focusing only on that one line and some being outraged by it. That one line seems a bit negligible to the larger points presented in my opinion.

4·4 months agoThanks. Solarpunk is deeply connected to Praxis as evidenced throughout this instance and readings that have been shared already. I’m trying to understand what specifically in this article could be useful for this community. As the first commenter pointed out, it’s a bit unclear from the piece itself

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•Living Bricks Turn Buildings Into Lush Green Climate Helpers - One Green Planet
11·5 months agoThanks for catching that. It’s valid criticism and the article should attribute more sources. There are other articles about this program that are unfortunately behind a paywall and some just mention “pilot programs” but don’t specify much further. There is this company in The Netherlands which seems likely to be one of them. You’ll need to translate the site to your preferred language.

Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Photos: The Scale of China’s Solar Power Projects
41·5 months agoFrom my understanding they are still spending money on fossil fuels like coal to some extent but they’re clearly in the process of transitioning towards green energy and you’re right that they’re surpassing us there, by far.
This Green Energy community is on a Solarpunk instance powered by solar power and a lot of Solarpunk fiction finds hope in dark times by imagining ways people respond to climate catastrophes with resilience, solidarity and community when our governments fail to provide solutions. The DIY and hopeful aspects of Solarpunk, whether real or fiction, seem especially prescient towards our current situation though that’s not denying what you just pointed out.

Thank you everyone for reporting this, constructively discussing in comments and using downvotes appropriately to bring to our attention. After reviewing the account and reaching out to them to no avail, along with their lack of response to community members, we’ve decided it is likely a bot account and have followed many other community mods in banning them from this community.
