  • Yeah convenience mostly I suspect. You get 1kg of potatoes or whatever in a plastic bag so you don’t have to weigh them out in the shop or then faff about at the self service when checking out.

    They’re starting to get better by introducing paper wrapping for a bunch of bananas in some supermarkets but there’s still a long way to go back to just having bins of loose produce.
