And the fediverse can be quite diverse, and so long as the software licenses are respected, there’s not much devs or external instances can interfere legitimately.

If you mean “people that use Pleroma”, it’s not the end of the world. You just need to block or avoid people that flock to a given instance, or do that for the instances themselves.

If you mean the devs, maybe keep an archived fork of the software being used, and use that if they start causing problems that damage the quality of the software, and move to that build while you refactor your instance.

In my case, as I’m mainly on Mbin, when I get to host my own instances (life got in the way when I tried…), I’d probably make, besides the new Mbin instance:

• either a PieFed or RSS Parrot instance for having RSS posts as fediverse posts
• a Peertube instance for videos / audio (?) / shorts
• maybe some Lemmy instance and a Mastodon one for tests
• a NeoDB instance since it’s the most unique type of content not handled by the softwares above

Personally, I’d pick Mbin, Friendica or PieFed.

I can observe two main types of social media style in the fediverse, microblogging-styled (e.g. Twitter-inspired), or group-styled (e.g. Reddit / BBS-inspired).

The rest’s usually variations of these two, or are interoperable to varying degrees with these main types.

And Mbin, Friendica and PieFed all explicitly try to integrate groups and microblogging, meaning they’d be the more overarching ones.

And sure, one solution always means sacrificing another, so alts may still be needed.

And on Pleroma’s case, it would seem it supports communities but only partially? I wonder if it’s like Mastodon. If so, your feed can become noisy.

Discord helps creating the problem, and gleefully announces a “least bad” option after laws are in place. Hmm.

Not familiar with software for streaming, but maybe bluetooth HDMI would serve the purpose?

Maybe the Learn Japanese to Survive trilogy for vocabulary memorization? They’re PC games but can be played on phone with the likes of JoiPlay, Maldives Player, or running a server with Python to load the index.html file (which works as an executable).

Windows’ device manager was more helpful because it updated as soon as I plugged or unplugged a device, even confirming something was indeed happening because the list blinked every time it was updated. Thus that allowed me to do it multiple times in a row while watching which entry appeared or disappeared from the list without the need to keep inputting the commands manually.

Being a big fan of powerleveling, I’d say trying to do that on Final Fantasy II and XII would count for exploration, both because you can find a lot gradually but consistently simply by exploring past the obvious path. FFI maybe if you consider progressing on the story requires paying attention (and often taking note) of what NPCs say throughout the game.

Starbound also fits nicely on exploration, and Stardew Valley on exploration and a bit of automation.

Only ones that come to mind are LibreTranslate, plus if you’d like to try, the instance from Mastodon.Uno’s group since the LibreTranslate dev team’s official instance requires an API key. Also maybe local LLMs if you trust they won’t go rogue and connect to open wifis like LG TVs do, or if you can ensure they won’t escape containment.

Furthermore, if you just need to translate individual words or some times smaller expressions, there’s disc-based translators and dictionaries though they usually require older systems, maybe Google Play ones (specially paid ones) if you keep them in an offline VM with Vanilla Android, QuickDic on F-Droid, etc. For CD and offline dictionaries, I collect them, so I can also comment on specific ones or on specific language combos.

Studying, and he seems to know only the basic as taught in Brazil.
