once you can run steam games on phone-level cpus, it’s game over.

it’s easier to wait like 5 minutes for files to transfer than to maintain a whole wireless streaming setup. i think of it like walking over to the video rental store lol

i dont find movie tickets outside of big cities to be much more expensive. if anything, they’re increasing slower than streaming costs.

theaters are keeping the good movies longer before they go to streaming, partially because the movie studios are having cashflow issues and theaters are a great way to … (checks notes)… make money!

I think the sooner thing that will happen is that handhelds like the Ayn Odin will come with Linux instead of Android, and then Proton will work, giving you all the Steam games (where there’s a very active community.)
Some people have gotten it working, but I’m hoping this becomes the norm.

I just use flash drives to transfer stuff from my computer to the ipad so i can watch in bed lol, keep my music on an mp3 player

I feel like this has more to do with people craving a theatrical experience, plus streaming movies kind of suck lately (more than Spiderman in particular being such a good movie)

I still have my combustion car, but I use it as little as possible. Mostly I bike and take transit.
