“Oh, in social structures when someone tries to make me do something, I just refuse. I can’t keep a job for more than a month. I get by for now by (fill in the blank) but I’m never more than one step away from becoming actually homeless and the background stress from that makes everyone around me think I’m bipolar. Wish I weren’t like this.”
(fill in the blank) isn’t necessarily a euphemism: i’ve seen more than a couple different answers to that. and of course “one step away from homelessness” does become zero, but also zero becomes one. idk what to say if you can’t believe that there are people who have this symptom so bad that they “flunk out” in some way, except to encourage you to venture out of your social circles to the degree you’re comfortable with it.
and he does this just one day before elections. bold move, Harrell.
