As a Utahn I was disappointed they were tears of joy. I want someone to smash it and hand it back to him so I can watch those tears.

I got a nice middrive ebike as my first. It’s great for things like large grocery runs etc but I’m working towards getting in better shape and picking up a beater for trips around town.

I live in Utah. This passed unanimously after the councilmembers ran to a private room and didn’t take public comment. Protesters most certainly were not bussed in and the public truly is pissed. While the vote passed I doubt this is over.

I don’t want 1 hour shipping. I want charming niche shops and fabs where the employees are treated well and able to serve higher quality products, and repair things when they occasionally break.

As a Utahn I’d missed this. But reading what applies… how would a company realize I’m in Utah and be forced to age verify me? My guess is this is actually mostly targeted at sports betting. I don’t know a lot about how people are using VPNs there but I’d be surprised if they’re running them on their phone constantly.
Not saying I’m okay with it, but the headline made me think I was in for issues using my VPN. What seems to really be coming is a liability rats nest for websites that makes no sense.

Thanks for the heads up on special vaccines. I once again find myself wondering if the family farm cats are better or worse than neighborhood roaming cats.

Respectfully I think this is interesting conjecture. Intentionally or not, it seems to directly compare modern facilities with Chernobyl. The only factor linking the examples is nuclear. There’s an ocean of time, technology, politics, culture, and regulations between the two.

Thank you. This is what I scrolled through all the shit news to read today.
My first thought was the power usage as well.

My quick search turned up reports of forced labour, but not child labour in particular.

Is this true for aviation fuel assuming you’re only a consumer though? Not defending them at all but unless there’s infrastructure changes needed for some partially renewable fuel their original drives for “10% renewable” would’ve been performative or regulatory?
I haven’t taken the time to research renewable jet fuel so please let me know if I’m off base.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation does a lot of amazing work to defend privacy and digital freedom. Just to throw one example out there, they released firmware for a low cost hotspot to detect cell snooping via IMSI catchers/stingrays.
Because they’re an advocacy group I suspect they stayed on the platform for visibility. I can half excuse orgs who crosspost to various platforms as long as they aren’t only on Twitter. But individuals do not get the same pass.
Is that a pedo flag? I’m nervous to try checking with a search engine…

Yep I’m definitely out of it. My brain subbed in Doctorow and I was trying to figure out wtf he did to justify the comments…
It’s not a person’s snoring I have a problem with. The family dog snores like a motherfucker.
Drunken noodles all the way. I was incredibly disappointed trying a new thai place when the drunken noodles were weaker than your average pad thai. I mean I know I’m white but if you’re gonna make it that weak at least ask me a spice level so I can say medium or something.
I want to spread the word far and wide: We’re banging pots and pans and cheering at the top of our lungs when his death hits the news.
Anyone able to chime in on differences with Ecosia?
