  • Everyone sits different and will need to adjust the chair for an ergonomic seating position. Beside that, everyone has to pack their environment into a bag everyday? So no office decorations, physical calendar or sticky notes and whatever else people bring and can normally leave in their office space to make it a “home base” for their work.

If people are logging in to pick an assigned seat (which should be considered part of the work day), instead of actual work, that’s a waste of everyone’s time.

  • You would have to change a few settings, making the resolution default to full screen and I’m torn on weather to leave “delete cookies on close”. It’ll force them to remember their passwords or they’ll have a million post-its, which would be fine until cousin Eddy needs a drug refill or Aunt Karen decides to take over the credit card account.

Getting someone to use a password manager is not so easy, and I really don’t trust any of the cloud solutions to not screw it up - even a simple UI update bacomes a problem.

There’s also some old asshole who will say something like “You get that liberal furry shit off my computer”

  • That really does sound awful. Someone probably complained about not getting a window seat,

Everyday you have to re-set up your work space, in a new spot and all. Even its just “log in” to the computer, you still have to adjust the display and chair to your preference. They’re probably loosing 15 min of labor per person everyday for everyone to unpack their stuff and adjust to their “new work environment”, not to mention the time spent finding any one.

I would do reassignment anually. If you like your spot, great you keep your spot. If you want to move, your spot is added to the pool. Seniority gets first pick. Any moves mid-year must have a valid reason such as medical needs, personnel issues, or a job change, or it’s just a vacant lot and you asked nicely.

  • I use a spreadsheet on the computer. Not elegant, and not convenient, but tailored to what I want. I manually put in my income and expenses, and have a separate page for the recurring stuff.

Tip for anyone who does similar, for recurring items (budget or bills), give each month (or whatever your budget period is) it’s own column. That way if something’s price changes mid-year, or changes each month (credit cards) it doesn’t mess with the totals for the previous months. It also allows for more periodic stuff to fit in the same sheet, just put 0 for the months its not due.

  • Defiantly 5, but if there’s more than 15 words delete it?

That should clear out the walls of text and keep the “1 liner” screen shots.

You could also require text walls to be transcribed, no transcription = delete. If the poster can’t be bothered to type it all out, why should we bother reading the jpeg distortion? (Again option #5).

One thing that stunk about reddit culture was the hyper-focus of the “meme/joke” communities. “Oh sorry your cat meme doesn’t fit r/happycatmeme, it must be on r/cheerfulcatmemes”, here’s an account ban for your mistake."

Sure, we have a microblog community, but like someone else said, we don’t need to go nuclear on people for posting here. Just tell them microblog exists. If they keep posting text here, baring any spam/malice, we can individually choose to block them.

  • Pretty much. Apps I have unrestricted are gplay services, alarm, netgaurd, phone and messages. There are a few things in the optimized section (allow background activity) such as email, android auto, and my music player. Everything else is restricted.

My last full charge was Monday morning, some point on Wednesday I charged it from around 40% to 70%, and now on Friday afternoon its at 25%. This week has also been below average usage for me, due to vacation, with total screen time 4.5 hours.

There has definitely been a drop in battery life with Android 16, but we finally got small quick actions back, so I am happy.
