Oh, finally! Been looking for him since Big Bang.

I put things to laundry by their vibes (e.g. - stronger or more delicate materials get appropriate wash modes) and only pay attention on labels to whether stuff could be ironed - learned hard way with one of my favourite jackets. 😢

18·4 days ago- She’s not.
- If she was, guy coming to a country that is a goddamn warzone, to chase a girl who likes losers, would definitely land among hottest things by pitysexual standards.

41·4 days agoI have a friend like that who’ll be looking at guy and thinking “wow, what a loser… I want to embrace him so bad”.
I’d identify her as “pitysexual”. 🌚

Technology@lemmy.world•Connecticut lawmakers approve bill for cell phone ban in schools — but critics argue that having different rules for adults and students is ‘not good role modeling at all’English
22·5 days agoYeah, but explain that to the children, especially young ones.
I do teaching, and when I set rules about not using phones during class - I put mine to the pile too. You can present the most compelling argument ever, but there’s a much higher chance it’s gonna reach fifth graders if you actually practice what you preach, and show the example of self-discipline, otherwise it will feel dishonest or unfair to kids, because they’re kids.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI finds signs of pancreatic cancer before tumors developEnglish
20·6 days agoArticle actually describes it well enough, how scientists trained a model on data from CT scans of patients who were treated for other conditions some time before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Technology@lemmy.world•Canonical/Ubuntu have been under DDoS for more than 17 hoursEnglish
182·8 days agoI actually don’t see any issues with AI in Ubuntu as long as it’s not like Microsoft’s “here’s Copilot absolutely everywhere, even in Notepad”. I mean, there’s also no way they can shove it up users throats like that too, even their so beloved snap can be removed from the system quite easily.
But implementing that would still certainly require some constructive discussion with userbase, and it’s already off to a rough start. 🌚
I’ve had Ender 3 V3-SE, which had been an upgrade from basic Ender 3 Pro, which, funnily enough, got glitchy from firmware flashing gone wrong.
And on topic of Creality Cloud - I’ve just used Octoprint on RPi as the latter was simply cheaper at that moment. 🌚
I’d recommend trying some budget-y CoreXY-type printer, but I’d be very careful with Creality lineup on that, as many of their options didn’t really turn out well, basic K1 is straight up dogwater, but some later revisions like KE might be better.
Mentioned already Elegoo Centauri is cool. If you want multi-filament system as well - take a look at Centauri Carbon 2, although it gets a bit less efficient with keeping temperature inside the enclosure due to big silly hat, and using different materials (e.g. different ones for supports) is going to be quite tricky.
Damn, how do I become a man now that I never subscribed to Joe Rogan’s podcast in the first place. 🌝

History Memes@piefed.social•First mistake: attacking a country called ChadEnglish
251·13 days agoOh dude, Gaddafi invading each one of his neighbours and getting his ass handed to him every time is one of my favourite recent history topics.
Literal cartoon villain with Napoleonic plans for empire spanning throughout Northern Africa, military background and enormous wealth, who still loses at the end of every episode.
There’s also 1917’s Manifesto To The Ukrainian People With An Ultimatum To The Ukrainian Rada.
Could be summarized as “We recognize people’s rights to secede from Russia, but you are traitors to the revolution, therefore we should declare war on you”.
Additional note: “Soviet Ukraine” mentioned there is basically micro-quasi-state in Kharkiv (15 km away from Russia).
🤓 Akshually, depends on the place.
In a country, where “good ol’ times” can’t really be characterized as times of liberal democracy - conservatives usually won’t be liberals.
I’d add to 3 , that most mobile distros have a list of supported devices - postmarketOS Wiki for example.
And about battery optimizations ( 5 ) - Android devices have quite a number of tricks for battery optimizations, such as few levels of sleep - depending on how long the phone wasn’t touched - with deepest one being very low power consumption mode with only very basic functions active and occasional data refresh for push notifications of high importance. Mobile Linux isn’t yet at that level of optimization, but it will get there eventually.

Ask Android@lemdro.id•What is this and how do I get rid of it?English
3·24 days agoThat TV box is connected to the same Wi-Fi, and those just do that, nothing to be alarmed about, just mild annoyance.
Should give you settings menu entry after long tap on that push notification, where you can block it from appearing.

3·24 days agoThat Khanmigo AI mentioned in article seems to be an interesting thing to try and maybe actually recommend to students (they’re gonna use AI anyway, so why not recommend something that gives hints instead of confident bs).

And there are also artists getting murdered for depicting beauty of their homeland, as it could “invoke nationalistic sentiments in population” (see purges of 60’s and Volodymyr Ivasiuk too, also absolutely do listen to his music, «Я піду в далекі гори» is an absolute banger).
