No. I am not sure how we could even craft such a law in the current US legal climate. Political speech, and money tied to political speech, are nearly impossible to regulate in any meaningful way.

I like this representation a lot.
Reverse image search says it’s a Republican fighter from the Spanish Civil War. I didn’t find much beyond that.
This image has probably been extensively cleaned up with Photoshop. The version in Wikimedia Commons is much messier.

actor Matt Damon, who plays Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s interpretation of Homer’s epic tale, had said in an interview that she had “the greatest arms I have ever seen.”
Damon had been discussing one of the film’s pivotal scenes when he gently corrected his interlocutor, who had mistakenly assumed the biceps in the shot were his own: They belonged to Dalton, who some might be surprised to learn is his stunt double.
A shot of Dalton from behind in the scene, holding a sword and ready to pounce at the giants, is used in one of the posters for the movie.
Confirmed. That’s a damn fine arm.

Really going after the root of the problem.

In such a case, would the two instances still effectively be defederated?
I think so? That’s what I would expect, at least.

The meme is like 99% true.
But watch the video of Portishead’s Roseland NYC Live and tell me Beth Gibbons crooning with a cigarette isn’t dope as hell. You can’t.

If you want to complicate the graph further, I believe hexbear federates using an allow list. Blahaj, lemmy.ca, and sh.itjust.works are not on the allow list, so they are effectively defederated. I haven’t looked further to see which other large instances may be affected.

The beehaw.org/sh.itjust.works defederation is really one-way. Beehaw defederated from us after some exceptionally bad trolls were operating from sh.itjust.works in 2023. IIRC, they requested that we also defederate from them to really make sure the split was made. We honored their request.
We would happily reconnect if Beehaw decided they want to federate with us again. If not, then that’s fine; they have a right to associate with whomever they like.
I believe infosec.pub temporarily defederated from us around the same time for the same reason. It was a rough time.
I don’t think carrying is the answer. Guns alone do not give you political power. And keeping a rifle visible in your truck feels more like a theft liability than a benefit, IMO.
As others said, put your energy into disaster training, building up your community, local political activism, etc. We need community engagement, support structures in place, and local politics on our side.
I bought an AR and I can’t stand those things
The AR platform is objectively a good one, but I don’t like them, either. They are part of the whole paramilitary cosplay bullshit that is now pervasive in the shooting world.
I recognize Lyndon LaRouche. When his followers showed up on my college campus they were always entertaining in a crazy-meets-stupid sort of way. So maybe this group will at least be good for a laugh or two.

Yeah, a good pair of boots is a wonderful thing. “Never cheap out on anything that separates you from the ground” and all that. My old pair are heavy-duty hiking boots that have taken me all over the mountains. But my feet are getting wider as I get older. A bad blister last week finally spurred me to shop for something new.

My region is known for cherries and (to a lesser extent) peaches. So as far as climate goes, I would say they fit right in with other stone fruit.
As for care, I am a clumsy and sometimes negligent caretaker. The tree is well established in my backyard and does not seem to need much aside from water. I prune it every year or two (my pruning jobs are ugly but the tree doesn’t seem to care). The biggest chore is picking up all of the fallen fruit before it attracts too many wasps.

I bought new boots, and they are a huge upgrade for my old boots. I should have done this years ago! So much lighter, so much more comfortable.
Also, my backyard apricot tree produced a fantastic crop this year. The freezer is full of fruit for making jam in autumn when the weather is cooler, and the dehydrator has been running nightly.

Looks like Photon. Compare it to https://phtn.app/

Mountain biking is gradually arriving at the same place skiing has been for decades. Manicured trails and cushy, predictable, long-travel bikes make the sport more accessible. A lot of people enjoy the flow and the exercise but don’t want to rattle through a loose rock garden or pick a line over slippery roots. Just like a lot of folks want to go to a ski resort to casually cruise groomers. And that’s fine.
