  • The Labour government is not left, so who is the supposed rift with?

In fact, from what I can tell, all the talk is about cooperation with the Greens, independents, unions and community groups. Bringing the left together.

I haven’t heard any of this ‘splitting the left’ talk from leftwing backbenchers - only from Labour leadership goons and the right - which I think tells you everything you need to know about the message.

Over the next few years we’re going to have to be better than we were in 2019 at seeing this kind of FUD for what it is or we’ll get Farage as the next prime minister.

And we won’t get another chance to do something about it until 2034.

  • News like this accelerates loss of faith in our failed political and economic orthodoxy, so in a way I’m glad to see it.

It’s time now for a new and genuine progressive movement to come together and take the fight to Reform. I’ve signed up to the new Sultana/Corbyn/independent party but I would also recommend supporting a Green party under Zack Polanski, independent candidates who want to collaborate, and grassroots community projects.

Others analysis may differ but mine is that ‘the left’ is starting to pull together and we should get behind it.

  • Yeah, that’s pretty much what I’m doing at the moment (haven’t quite got to door-to-door though - maybe it will come to that). Those are some good ideas for locations for placing ads - thanks. I’m out of that headspace and need to get back in it!

I can’t help noticing how much work is coming in to my peers from instagram though. I’m getting the impression that it has become the standard medium/conduit for professionals.
